Received, with sadness, the results of the candidate’s own discernment process, that they were not called to ministry in Alaska at this time. December 11-15th, 2008.
Updated the Sr Warden, Search Committee, Vestry, Children’s Committee, Youth Committee, and Early Childhood Committees of these developments and the candidate’s decision December 16, 2008.
After discussion and consultation, decided not to post the Search Committee update of December 15, 2008 on the website, but to disseminate to those on the parish e-mail list and in-house only. December 16, 2008
Updated the parish by e-mail, the bulletin, and Sunday announcements, of the results of the first round in the discernment and call process, and the necessity of starting a new round in our process in the beginning of January. Promoted the availability of the full report which is available in hard copy in the narthex. December 16- 21st, 2008.  
Publically thanked the Search Committee for the successful completion of their charge, and and discharged the Search Committee from further duties. Sought nominations of new members of the Search positions in the bulletin January 4, 2009 and January 11, 2009

Search Committee Proposed Timeline

September 7, 2008 Pictorial profile posted on the St. Mary's Godsview.org website, candidates are contacted via e-mail, and pictorial profiles are mailed via USPS.
October 7, 2008 2 P.M., Cay's Room, Search Team meets to review resumes received thus far. Resumes will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis with the first priority given to those received by October 7th.
November, December 2008 Parish input process; evaluations and potential interviews.
Work of 2008 Search Committee celebrated and Committee discharged.
January, February 2009

No hire made; New Search Comittee appointed by the Vestry January 2009
Second Phase of Search process begins, utilizing profile and materials developed in the First Phase. Search for new Associate Rector to resume.

March, April 2009 Accept resumes, review applications, conduct interviews.
April - August, 2009 Hold site visit; Hire upon finding the right candidate and match.


Note: If the Search Committee identifies an ideal candidate early in the process, they may adjust this timeline to provide for the early calling of an Associate Rector for Family Ministries.
