for a joyful and faith-filled
experience of community!

Sunday, February 5

Our preacher this Sunday will be

The Rev. Dr. Ted Cole, Jr.

Study the Bible: Grow in Your Faith!

Kerygma Returns!

In February, two Kerygma courses give you the opportunity to read the New Testament in community, where you can bring your questions, wonderings and faith as we learn and grow together!

Kerygma: Discovering the Bible - The New Testament gives an overview in 15 weeks of the story of Jesus and the early church and key themes for our Christian faith. It is ideal for folks new to the Bible, and great for those looking for a review or overview. This is the second part of the Discovering the Bible course. The Old Testament was offered in the fall, and will be offered again in the fall of 2012. If you are a returning Kerygma student, all you need to do is show up! If you are interested in joining the course, speak with Ted in person, via e-mail Ted@Godsview.org or at 563-3341. Space is limited. Classes are Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30 pm, starting February 1.

Kerygma: The Gospel of Mark - Jesus: Powerful, Courageous and Trusting is an eight-week study of the Gospel of Mark. Participants should come with a basic knowledge of the Bible, from a course like Kerygma: Discovering the Bible or equivalent. We meet on Tuesday nights from 7:00-8:30 pm, and beging February 7. To sign up, speak with Michael in person, via e-mail Michael@Godsview.org or at 563-3341.

Children's Chapel

Annual Meeting Sunday This Week, January 29

This weekend, we have one combined main service at 10 am. Following the service, we have our Annual Meeting where we hear reports on the state of the parish from our leadership, elect our representatives, and approve the budget for the coming year. During the 10 am worship service, Children's Chapel will be offered, but after the service, there will be no Sunday School. Instead, for children of parents who wish to attend Annual, we will offer a light lunch and video program (Veggie Tales, anyone?) with our excellent childcare providers looking after our littlest one. Please join us for this important Sunday!

Church School returns to its normal time the following Sunday, February 5. Children's Chapel will be offered at the 9 am and 11:30 am services as well.

Christian Dream Work Group Starting at St. Mary's

We meet next on Saturday, February 4 from 10 am to 12 pm in Cay's Room, and continue the first and third Saturdays of the month. This is a Christian Dream Work Group. The February sessions are open to anyone interested in learning about working with their dreams as part of their Christian faith journey. We are reading John Sanford's Dreams: God's Forgotten Language and viewing Bob Haden's video Dream Workshop DVD Series. You can order Sanford's book from Amazon.com or Barnesandnoble.com. If you have questions, please speak with Ted at 563-3341 or Ted@Godsview.org.
