Overview:

Our Pre – K class and Kindergarten through 2nd grade classes use the Hands on Bible Curriculum by Group

The Bible comes alive when you teach as Jesus taught! Just as Jesus used everyday objects to teach eternal truths, Hands-On Bible Curriculum uses fun gizmos that help Sunday school leaders teach so kids understand God’s Word, love it and remember it for a lifetime.  Hands-On Bible Curriculum is a quarterly, age-graded curriculum for toddlers through 6th graders. The two-year scope & sequence guides kids through the Bible, as they learn and understand Biblical truths and develop a deeper, thriving relationship with Jesus.

How it Works:

We use unique games, snacks, and crafts to help kids learn about God. Kids retain more by interacting with a lesson instead of just hearing it. Discovering the Bible will be a fun, hands-on experience that gets kids excited about coming to Sunday school.

Here is how a typical lesson looks:

Grades 3 and 4 use an innovative and interactive curriculum for children, Holy Moly by Spark House.

Every Holy Moly lesson follows a four-part sequence: Discover, Relate, Connect, and Create. Each week, kids watch an animated Bible story video (DISCOVER), talk about the story (RELATE), read their Bible Storybook or Bible (CONNECT), and try a creative leaflet activity (CREATE). Holy Moly includes ten units that can be covered in two years, spanning the Old Testament and New Testament.  We use the Connect NRSV Bible that has fun activities, background information, and more. These Bibles let kids experience God’s Word at their reading level and give kids a personal experience with Bible stories they’ll never forget.

2016/2017 Curriculum (Year 2):

  • Unit 1 / Old Testament
  • Unit 4 / Holy Week & Easter

Each week, tweens focus on and reinforce a theme by watching a witty video (SEE), exploring biblical text (EXPLORE), and creating projects that range from games to art and more (MAKE). Connect takes tweens on a journey through the Old Testament and into the New Testament, exploring the connections between several stories each week. Connect includes ten units that can be covered in two years, spanning the Old Testament and New Testament.  We use the Connect NRSV Bible that has fun activities, background information, and more. These Bibles let kids experience God’s Word at their reading level and give kids a personal experience with Bible stories they’ll never forget.
