Come Together 2024 LGBTQ Advocacy Summit
October 12
St. Mary's Episcopal Church
a conference for the progressive Christian community,
LGBTQ+ community members, advocates, friends, family, and allies
This October, we call those who long for a greater sense of community and support...who are drawn to work of healing and change...who seek renewed passion and purpose...whose souls are moved by music and art: come together, and find your people!
The 2024 LGBTQ Advocacy Summit welcomes Alaskans from the support and therapeutic communities; policymakers and advocates; progressive Christians; and representatives from the Alaskan LGBTQ+ community. Join us as we come together for a day of learning, coordination, and community-building to share our passion for equity and justice and build new connections to help and sustain each other in our mutual work of supporting and defending the dignity of every person in our city and our state.
Although this summit was intended to be open to the entire community, the date we thoughtlessly chose falls on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year in the Jewish calendar - making it impossible for a significant and valued part of the community to participate. In recognition of this, and in the spirit of the Day of Atonement and of T’shuvah, we have scaled back the scope of the summit and narrowed its focus; and are inviting members of the progressive Christian community, and members of the LGBTQA+ community who have been harmed by Christian communities and theologies, to come together for a day to share, reflect, and chart a better way forward as strong and committed allies.
A summit on LGBTQ+ education and advocacy in the broader community will be be planned for next year, on a date that all can freely attend.

We are thrilled to welcome Grammy-nominated and Dove award-winning songwriter, author, and LGBTQ+ advocate Jennifer Knapp back to Alaska! Ms. Knapp is taking a brief break from a new nationwide tour in order to be with us for this conference, and will be sharing her songs and her story with us on Saturday, October 12. Anchorage's own Pepper Kit will open the concert. Admission to the concert is included with conference registration; tickets for the general public are available at the link below.
