Feeding our neighbors
Have you heard about the months of delay in food assistance benefit distribution? FISH and other hunger agencies are bearing the brunt of this crisis. We are swamped with calls, and are operating at maximum capacity every delivery day! Please consider joining our corps of volunteers to help feed our hungry neighbors. There are several ways you can help:
- Telephone callers: this can be done from home; you need a phone, a computer with Excel, and an internet connection
- Food Packers: work at the FISH pantry on the St. Mary's campus in the morning on delivery days to pack grocery bags according to specific menu guidelines
- Delivery drivers: use your own vehicle to drop food deliveries off in the afternoons or evenings
We ask that volunteers commit to working once per month (more is welcome!); volunteers typically spend 2-3 hours at their tasks. Sign up is easy with SignUpGenius, and you can choose a day that works best for you. Email Carla Wight or the FISH general information address to get started. Want more information?
