Sunday School Curriculum: Spark House
Grades 3 and 4
Overview:
Grades 3 and 4 use an innovative and interactive curriculum for children, Holy Moly by Spark House.
Every Holy Moly lesson follows a four-part sequence: Discover, Relate, Connect, and Create. Each week, kids watch an animated Bible story video (DISCOVER), talk about the story (RELATE), read their Bible Storybook or Bible (CONNECT), and try a creative leaflet activity (CREATE). Holy Moly includes ten units that can be covered in two years, spanning the Old Testament and New Testament. We use the Connect NRSV Bible that has fun activities, background information, and more. These Bibles let kids experience God’s Word at their reading level and give kids a personal experience with Bible stories they’ll never forget.
Grades 5 and 6
Teachers: Susannah Olnes, Travis Montgomery, Alice Smith (as needed)
Overview:
Grades 5 and 6 use a Bible-centered Sunday school tailored to tweens, Connect by Spark House.
Every Connect lesson follows a three-part sequence: See, Explore, and Make. Each week, tweens focus on and reinforce a theme by watching a witty video (SEE), exploring biblical text (EXPLORE), and creating projects that range from games to art and more (MAKE). Connect takes tweens on a journey through the Old Testament and into the New Testament, exploring the connections between several stories each week. Connect includes ten units that can be covered in two years, spanning the Old Testament and New Testament. We use the Connect NRSV Bible that has fun activities, background information, and more. These Bibles let kids experience God’s Word at their reading level and give kids a personal experience with Bible stories they’ll never forget.
